Community Action Plan

Our request to public partners

We are asking the City of Santa Paula, Ventura County Watershed Protection District, and state and federal partners to establish a coordinated process to assess bank erosion along the affected reaches of Santa Paula Creek, identify immediate risk-reduction measures, and develop a funded long-term stabilization plan.

  1. Map affected creek reaches and identify the responsible agency or agencies for each area.
  2. Include private-property bank erosion in relevant creek and watershed studies.
  3. Conduct hydraulic, geotechnical, environmental, and geomorphic assessments.
  4. Identify temporary risk-reduction measures for areas facing immediate danger.
  5. Evaluate durable, science-based, and environmentally responsible solutions.
  6. Publish agency responsibilities, timelines, funding options, and next steps.
  7. Hold a public interagency workshop in Santa Paula.
